Banat is situated in East Europe, with its eastern tip lying in the northwest corner of Romania, the majority of its south side being in Serbia and a small part of its northern terrain belonging to Hungary. Wine grapes grown in the region include lots of imported types, such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir and Reisling, but also grapes indigenous to the region like Cadarca. The climate is sunny and warm, with cool breezes in the more mountainous areas.
