Lakes Distillery Steel Bonnets Whisky

The world’s 1st blend of English and Scotch Malt Whiskies created to honour the memory of those people who lived in the Border Marches of England and Scotland during the 13th–17th centuries. The people of this region did not see themselves as either English or Scottish and therefore developed an independence of spirit that set them against the world. In early English, to ‘reive’ is to rob and from this were born ‘The Border Reivers’, nicknamed the ‘Steel Bonnets’ after the helmets they wore.

Tasting Notes

Composed of the Lakes Single Malt from England and some of the most respected Highland and Islay malts from Scotland. The whiskies were married at the Lakes Distillery to create a smooth and harmonious blend. The whisky has a creamy, slightly nutty & full bodied flavour. Notes of vanilla, ginger, nutmeg, and hints of dried fruit. All held together with a sweet & comforting layer of wood smoke.
