Saint-Gervais is a typical little village in the South of France, which is part of the eighteen denominations of the Côtes du Rhône Villages benefitting from a Mediterranean climate and the effects of the Mistral which bring freshness to the wines of Domaine Clavel.
Winemaker, Claire Clavel, is a descendant of the original family who have worked the vineyards since 1640. She strives every day to continue the story started by her ancestors many generations ago. Claire's aim is clear:-"I want to make authentic wines that express the local terroirs. I love sharing them with you. That's Wine: sharing, conviviality, gastronomy ..." Claire Clavel
Beautiful garnet red in appearance. Intense and powerful on the nose. Aromas of black fruits, spice, new leather and yellow flowers. Good weightiness on the palate with a concentrated, balanced and round structure. The finish is long, with lovely liquorice notes.
This wine will go well with meat of any sort (duck fillet, roast beef, rabbit stew with olives) or spicy dishes (Tex Mex pork ribs, Moroccan pigeon.
