Iconic Californian Jordan estate back in the UK with House of Townend

One of California’s most awarded wine estates lands back in the UK after a number of years away. Jordan Vineyards and estate, founded in 1972 and headed by 2nd generation John Jordan, has signed House of Townend to sell and distribute its wines in the UK, with the first shipment having arrived in June 2018.

Inspired by the great wines of Burgundy and Bordeaux, Jordan estate farms on 1,200 acres in the cool Alexander valley north of Napa and represents quality and consistency, with focus on producing only the very best Chardonnay and Cabernet which show a distinct focus on the greatest names of Burgundy and Bordeaux.

Ashley Cesario, Jordan’s Director of Sales for Eastern US and Canada, said that that House of Townend, with its focus on top wine accounts within the UK, would be an ideal partner for its iconic and much lauded Chardonnay and Cabernet. ‘’ We really want to show our wines in top restaurants and hotels within the UK. We distribute to 27 countries around the globe and the UK is where the action is with regard to fine wine. Our Chardonnay and Cabernet are perfect with great food and I believe that House of Townend have shown that they can supply our wines to a long list of the greatest restaurants in the UK’.

She added – ‘ stocks are limited – Jordan are currently oversubscribed so we skimmed stocks from several other export markets to send cases of Chardonnay 2015, Cabernet 2013 and several mixed cases of museum stock Cabernet to House of Townend.’

Likewise, John Townend, Managing Director of House of Townend, says that Jordan are an estate worthy of inclusion due to “their purity of fruit, elegance and precision; Jordan proved that they are relentless in their quest to show a very untypical style of Californian wine. Both the Chardonnay and Cabernet are World class on every level!’
