By adding nothing and taking nothing away Douglas Laing offers the consumer an experience close to sampling Whisky straight from the cask in the depths of a cold dank Distillery warehouse.
The nose opens with sea air, gentle smoke, manuka honey and a hint of dried seaweed. The palate initially shows a maritime character, leading to sugary shortbread, dried oak and cereals leading to a distinctly spicy finish bringing puffs of smoke, vanilla and cinnamon pancakes.
Best served neat.
