The fifth Creation from Cu Bocan has been finished in an incredibly rare cask type, Andean Oak. The mix of Andean Oak’s unique properties and subtle smoke has resulted in notes of lightly charred oak with deep hints of exotic floral herbs.

Tomatin Distillery

The origins of whisky production in Tomatin are hard to be precise about - the formal distillery which operates today was established in 1897 but there is reason to believe that whisky production, albeit illegal, has been an important part of life in the area around Tomatin since the 1400s. The name itself gives an insight into this secret past: “Tomatin” translates to “Hill of the Juniper Bush”, as juniper wood gives off no smoke while burning. Fresh and elegant on the nose, with lightly charred oak and a spicy edge. Floral notes of orange blossom and rose mingle with exotic fruit with hints of a campfire. On the palate it unfolds round and soft, lightly sweet with a whisper of smoke. Charred oak depth meets tropical fruit framed by floral hints of orange blossom and rose. A delicate resinous spice slowly lingers, leading to a warm, refined finish.
