This whisky is vatted from 54 ex-Bourbon barrels (95%) and 2 ex-Sherry hogsheads (5%) that were originally filled with 52% unpeated spirit and 48% peated spirit. Bottled at 46.8% ABV, non-chill filtered, and of natural colour. A total of 16,380 bottles.

Adelphi Distillery

The Loch Katrine Adelphi Distillery built 1826 by Charles and david gray on the banks of the river Clyde just south of Victoria Bridge on the northern edge of the Gorbals. After many years of troubles in1971 came the final demolition of the Loch Katrine Adelphi Distillery. In 1993 Jamie Walker (the great-grandson of Archibald Walker) revives the Adelphi name as an independent bottler in order to explore the mysteries of malt whisky and to make a limited number of rare, well-aged and top-quality malt whiskies available to the discerning whisky enthusiast. The nose opens with coconut, oat biscuits, and zesty orange peel, layered with salty sea air and a hint of strawberry laces and mint. The palate is rich and creamy, with custard creams, vanilla wafer, brine, and earthy smoke. A lingering, smoky, maritime warmth defines the finish.
