Brittany, cousin to Ireland and Scotland, is a region that epitomises all the Celtic characteristics of a rugged land and bracing maritime climate on a background of sudden sharp storms. An ideal climate for whisky. With 83 years experience in distillation, it was decided in 1983 that a new venture would begin the adventure of whisky, the Celtic eau-de-vie par excellence. Gilles Leizour, supported by Bernard Le Pallec, sales director, went to Scotland for inspiration, then ensconced himself in his laboratory, coming out in 1987 with a blend: the WB. In 1998, they continue to research to create Armorik, the first single malt in Brittany!
Full-bodied and elegant nose, with notes of dried fruit (hazelnut) and toasted bread. The palate has a fruity attack that gradually reveals its complexity, on notes of dried fruit and cereals, highlighted with spices. Leading to a finish that is spicy and marine, it is savoured at length.
