Formerly known as Château Mouton Baron Philippe this excellent property is still owned by the Rothschild family and is one to follow.
A smoky rich bouquet with notes of cherry, cedar oak and tobacco. This is a well structure wine showing black berry fruits, firm tannins, sweet oak and a summer pudding freshness. A delicious claret.
Château d’Armailhac is best served with all types of classic meat dishes, veal, pork, beef, lamb, duck, game, roast chicken, roasted, braised and grilled dishes. Chateau d’Armailhac is also good with Asian dishes, hearty fish courses like tuna, mushrooms and pasta.
Harvest dates: 7th September - 30th September. Aged in 52% new oak barrels and 48% 1 year barrels for 18 months. Alc 13.7%
