Juanico is one of Uruguay’s leading family-owned wineries and its most technically advanced, thanks to its investment in the latest technology. They have a total planted area of 240 hectares and use a cultivation system that respects the environment by using the principles of organic farming, avoiding the use of chemicals to ensure a natural balance in the ecosystem and reduce human intervention.‘Viñedo de los Vientos’ translates into “Vineyard of the Winds” and is located where the river Plate estuary and the Atlantic Ocean meet, providing clean cool ocean breezes and an ideal climate for the maturation of fine wine grapes.
Dark, deep and brooding this powerful wine is laden with concentrated black fruit flavours, supported by impressively ripe tannins and a balancing whiff of freshness. Dynamic and beautifully pure there is a lovely chocolate underlay that gives added character.
Try with beef stew, cassoulet, Roasted lamb or duck confit or indeed cheeses like Roquefort.
