New Zealand

Only a few miles north of Martinbrough, Wairarapa has a terroir ideal for viticulture, with a warm, bright climate and several rivers flowing through the region, giving the soils essential nutrients and minerals. As with most of New Zealand’s winemaking regions, Pinot Noir is the most successful grape in Wairarapa, making sweet, juicy wines with a dry, earthy texture. The breezy, warm climate also helps viticulture by cooling down the vineyards during the hotter summer months.
