Beaujolais

France

Known internationally for its long tradition of winemaking, Beaujolais is a French Appellation d'Origine Contrôlée (AOC). Wines from Beaujolais tend to be very light-bodied red wines, with relatively high amounts of acidity, and are generally made from the red Gamay grape which has a thin skin and is low in tannins. White wines from the region, which make up only a tiny 1% of its production, are made mostly with Chardonnay grapes though Aligoté is also permitted until 2024 (on condition the vines were planted before 2004). Our range consists of different styles from Beaujolais including those from the fantastic and admired Fleurie, the bestselling wines in our portfolio from this renowned region.
