Casablanca Valley

Casablanca Valley is one of the world’s main producers of Carmenere, after the grape was all but wiped out in Europe by the Phylloxera plague of the late 19th century. The Casablanca’s terroir plays a large part in the production of their wines, as the weather is the right temperature for grapes, and the soil is a unique composition – clay based, but with sand and gravel also present, leading to a rich, earthy feeling from a lot of Casablanca wines.
