Pontemagno

Pontemagno was founded in 1955 in the village of St Paolo de Jesi by Giovanni Piersanti and his children Silveria and Carlo, who had already achieved great success in the production of sparkling wines. Carlo's sons, Giuliano and Ottavio, took over the business, inheriting from their father his passion for hard work, achieving great results. Initially the winery was no more than a room, where mostly sparkling wines were bottled due to high demand at the time. In the mid-eighties, due to ever increasing demand for their wines, Piersanti enlarged the premises and built a modern warehouse of more than 2,000 square metres, which has became the core of the business, with a capacity of over 20,000 quintals (2,000 tonnes) of wine in stainless steel tank.
This wine has a slightly perfumed, almond aroma. Attractive lemon balancing acidity. A creamy texture with a savoury character and a clean citrus finish.
Pair with prawn and saffron risotto.

Decanter Panel Tasting July 2022, Verdicchio, 90 points: "Concentrated, stone fruit notes with a floral hint. Fine balance of minerality and some bright acidity. Slightly creamy and lactic, with lees-aged notes on the palate and good length."
