Sun Gate

The state of California is by far the most important producer of wine in the USA. Its grape growers succeed in many differing environments up and down the state from the fog influenced coastal valleys of Sonoma, Napa and Carneros, to the hot irrigated Central Valley and Monterey, Santa Barbera and Edna Valley on the Pacific coast and to Themecula on the Mexican boarder. Sun Gate is the product of expert negociants who have selected, vinified and blended grapes ideally suited to the Californian climate, selected from across the vineyards of California’s Central Valley to create consistent wines in perfect conditions.

A light bodied wine with crisp acidity, buttery Golden Delicious 'Tarte aux Pommes' characters - full mouthfeel and a lively finish. Lemon/lime/apple on the nose, with a delicious freshness on the palate.

Ideal with fish or fresh cheeses.

The grapes for this wine tend to be picked on the early side to promote the citrus/tropical flavours and retain the natural acids. The juice is cold settled and racked to stainless steel tanks for fermentation, a portion of which is fermented and aged on French and American oak.
