Savigny Les Beaune 1er Cru Serpentieres 2013, Domaine Michel & Joanna Ecard

SAVI210
The 1er Cru “Serpentières” is widely regarded as the finest vineyard in Savigny. It enjoys a full southern exposure and its soils are chalky and rich in minerals. Coupled with the very old vines, up to 60 years old producing very low yields, Michel is able to produce a serious saturated mouthfeel of pure Pinot decadence.

Domaine Michel & Joanna Ecard

Originating from generations of winemakers, Michel & Joanna Ecard have 4 hectares of land, situated in the village of Savigny-Les-Beaune in the Cote D'Or region. They employ traditional working methods including manual grape harvesting and maturation of the wine for 12 months in oak casks. Their wines reflect the terroir of the area and the characteristics of the Pinot Noir grape

Tasting Notes

A bouquet with potent potpourri, white flowers, lavender and cherry with a little spice. The palate is still firm with dark cherries, blackberries, baked rhubarb, fig and a hint of cloves. The finish lingers with candied strawberries and a touch of cassis, along with a hint of minerality and underlying oak.
