Our winemaking project in South East Australia has been extremely successful, working in partnership with winemaker Aidan Menzies.
Our aim? To produce a pair of delicious everyday drinking wines that made Australia so popular in the early years of the millennium, and
to offer the wine drinker a clear alternative to the drab, characterless wines bottled here in the UK. BINGO!
The nose is all ripe berries, black cherries, vanilla and spice, the sweet fruit flavours rich and juicy, with blueberry and cherry characters and a deft touch of oak, signed off by a nice savoury aftertaste.
Light and fruity enough to sip on without food but also great with a homemade lasagne
small parcels of machine picked fruit are blended with a percentage of premium hand-picked grapes, and the wines warm fermented on skins for 14 days, extracting good ruby colour, soft tannins and a balancing acidity. The wine benefits from some oak treatment that wraps the sweet black fruits and spice brilliantly.
