The vines are located at the top of the hillside overlooking the village of Meursault, enjoying a south/ south east exposure. The name Tillets is derived from lime trees that grew around the vineyards in Medieval times. In 2020 the youthful Gaetane and Martiale Carre harvested just 45hl/ha from this rocky site, and fermented the wine in tank before ageing in 25% new oak.

Domaine Denis Carré

This domaine was established by Denis Carré and his wife in 1974 with the first vintage produced in 1975. Situated in the heart of the village of Meloisey in the Hautes Côtes de Beaune, it covers 12ha in 12 different appellations. Although not certified, the domaine is farmed organically. It has been run by his son and daughter, Martial and Gaetane, since 2008. Full of energy and passion they are raising the quality of wines produced here at an impressive speed.
The style is elegant yet powerful, ripe with layers of sweet tropical fruit, mango, pineapple and baked apple – formed around a spike of acidity and layers of crème anglaise, roasted nuts, honey and intense minerality. A forceful and refined Meursault, yet with power and intensity aplenty.
Fermented in tank before ageing in 25% new oak.
