From one of California’s most awarded wine estates and modelled after a First Growth Bordeaux, Jordan is a classic Californian Cabernet Sauvignon that has been considered one of Sonoma’s best Cabernet Sauvignons for four decades with its perfect balance between beautiful fruit, silky tannins and a lingering finish. Jordan is often considered more Saint-Julien in style, but the 2013 Jordan Cabernet Sauvignon is reminiscent of Bordeaux’s Pauillac. This will be a long-lived vintage, perfectly suited for big bottles.

Jordan Vineyard & Winery

Established in 1972, by Tom and Sally Jordan, Jordan Vineyard & Winery was inspired by the great wines of Burgundy and Bordeaux. Jordan estate farms on 1,200 acres in Sonoma’s cool Alexander Valley, north of Napa and represents quality and consistency, with focus on producing only the very best Chardonnay and Cabernet which show a distinct focus on the greatest names of Burgundy and Bordeaux. Named 'The Best Vineyard in North America 2023' by World's Best Vineyards, and now headed by 2nd generation John Jordan, these wines are World class on every level! John along with winemaker Rob Davis, who has been responsible for every vintage of Jordan since the inaugural 1976, continue to preserve the great ecological richness of this property, achieving numerous sustainability certifications. The diversity of the estate vineyard blocks with clay-rich soils like the Right Bank of Bordeaux and some of the best family grower parcels on mid-slope, well-drained Sonoma County vineyards with mineral-rich, gravelly soils reminiscent of Bordeaux’s Left Bank, gives their Cabernet Sauvignon a complexity found only in the top first growths of the world.

Intense aromas of cassis, black currants, blackberries and ripe cherries with a lovely floral note. The palate is rich and seductive, with concentrated flavours of blackberries and cassis interwoven seamlessly with fine tannins from new French oak barrels. Its masculine structure is harnessed by a beautiful balance of acidity and dark fruits with a long, cassis-laced finish. A highly collectible vintage to be enjoyed now or cellared through 2032. "What began as one of the warmest, driest and earliest growing seasons on record, 2013 had moderate weather throughout summer, allowing the grapes to develop very intense, concentrated flavors with lots of structure. 2013 is the richest, most complex Jordan I’ve tasted upon release.” —Winemaker Rob Davis
Though a natural pairing for a flavourful steak, this wine's balance of fruit, tannin and acidity beautifully complement grilled or roasted dishes, such as herb-crusted lamb, pork belly or rosemary chicken. Its dark fruit flavours are also a fabulous match for cheddar cheese or mushroom risott
