Upon swirling the glass and putting my nose in, the wine is immediately more open, lush
and forward, with a distinct creamy note and hints of sweeter, riper tropical fruit with a linear, more citric element. The palate is a little lighter in style than Vergers, less obviously brooding yet still powerful, balancing richness and texture of ripe fruit with a citrussy, steely acidity and more supple finish. The minerality adds complexity to the creamy, fudge and tinned pear core, with notes of toast, caramel and honey adding to the long, long finish. Very, very good!
