Brittany, cousin to Ireland and Scotland, is a region that epitomises all the Celtic characteristics of a rugged land and bracing maritime climate on a background of sudden sharp storms. An ideal climate for whisky. With 83 years experience in distillation, it was decided in 1983 that a new venture would begin the adventure of whisky, the Celtic eau-de-vie par excellence. Gilles Leizour, supported by Bernard Le Pallec, sales director, went to Scotland for inspiration, then ensconced himself in his laboratory, coming out in 1987 with a blend: the WB. In 1998, they continue to research to create Armorik, the first single malt in Brittany!
Fruity and elegant nose, it has wonderful citrus and apple notes, highlighted by salted butter caramel fragrance. The palate gives fine woody notes rapidly changed on to cereal ones, all with an unsuspected fullness. Touches of heather honey perfume, the finish in the mouth is sustained by the cereals and pleasant marine notes.
