Alter Ego de Palmer 2012 Margaux

ALTE020
Alter Ego is the second wine of Château Palmer and was first made in 1998. It resulted from a new approach to selecting and blending devised to interpret Chateau Palmer terroir differently without departing from the values that makes its reputation. Sadly, there was only a very small production of Alter Ego de Palmer in 2012, as it is absolutely fabulous.

Château Palmer

After the First Growths this is traditionally one of the highest performing chateaux and is always in high demand. Winemaker Thomas Duroux has overseen the chateau’s fi rst 100% biodynamic wine this vintage, following a journey that began back in 2008.

Tasting Notes

The vintage displays an intense and superb dark hue. The nose reveals subtle fruity scents of spices and soil. The palate offers melting flavours of leather, dark berries, and raspberry. Tannins boast extraordinary finesse and lead to a long finish. Wonderful, fresh, crunchy red fruits that are so juicy and compelling. Displaying beautifully brilliant balance, it kicks many other châteaux’s Grand Vin’s into the cheap seats.
